ELIZABETH MYLREA als COWIN to James McArdle

Know all men by these presents that I, Elizabeth Mylrea, widow of the late Thomas Mylrea of Factory Lane Douglas Isle of Man, for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and ten pounds sterling to her paid, secured and satisfied by James McArdle of Douglas the receipt hereof is hereby acknowledged
Hath given, granted, bargained and sold and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and forever absolutely sell to the said James McArdle all and singular a plot or parcel of ground and the houses, buildings and other advantages to the same belonging, situated in Factory Lane in the said town of Douglas and bought by the said Thomas Mylrea from Matt Cain and Margaret his wife by deed bearing date March ninth one thousand eight hundred and eleven and bounded on the north by the public street, and on the south by the property of the trustees of the Wesleyan Chapel, on the west partly by the property of the said Trustees of the Thomas Street Chapel and the ruins of a house and on the east by a house the property of several parties
To have and to hold the said parcel of land and the houses and buildings thereon together with all rights and appertenances thereto belonging unto the said James McArdle his heirs and assigns from twelfth day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty four forever, subject to the reservations and restrictions contained in the said deed of the ninth of March one thousand eight hundred and eleven
And the said Elizabeth Mylrea for herself, her executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and agree with the said James McArdle, his heirs and assigns, that she hath good right, full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the said plot or parcel of land and premises in manner aforesaid and that she and they shall and will warrant and uphold, maintain and defend the same unto the said James McArdle, his heirs and assigns from and against the claim, challenge and demand of all persons whomsoever
And for the true and faithful performance hereof, the said Elizabeth Mylrea binds and obliges herself, her heirs, executors and administrators in and under the penalty of four hundred and twenty pounds sterling to be paid and levied according to law

NOTES
- Elizabeth was the widow of Thomas Mylrea. They married 1802 in Lonan and he was a tailor
- THe property she is selling has been held by them for over 40 years
- Thomas's parents were Edward Mylrea snr & Dorothy Fargher als Kewley who married in 1766, Lonan. He was born in 1774, the second of three sons: Edward, Thomas & William
- Thomas & Elizabeth had four sons: Thomas b1803, William b1805, Philip b1809, John b1818
- Oldest son Thomas died of TB in 1845 in Liverpool. His infant daughter had died several years before. He was also a tailor
- Second son William lived in Liverpool and was survived by two daughters
- Sons Philip and John enjoyed great successes in their professional lives
- Grandson John Allen Mylrea, son of John born 1818, was a politician
- Thomas died 1853 and Elizabeth died 1857
- The bondsmen for Elizabeth's probate were her son John, and William Allen who was not John's business partner but might have been a relative of John's wife, Jane als Allen
