This Deed made the fifth day of September one thousand, nine hundred and six between maria Mylroie of South Cape Laxey in the parish of Lonan and her husband JOhn Mylroie (hereinafter called the assignors) on the one part and William Thomas Quine of No 623 Wet Main Street, Lead City, SouthDakota, United States of North America, and Eliza Isabella Quine of Clifton House, Laxey, in the parish of Lonan, spinster, (hereinafter called the assignees) of the other part

Whereas Thomas Cowley of Baljean in the parish of Lonan did on the twenty-eighth day of January one thousand, eight hundred and eighty-four grant and pass his Deed of Bond and Security unto John Killip of Ballacollister in the said parish of Lonan for the principal sum of one hundred pounds and secured upon all and singular a certain dwelling house and garden situate on North Baldrine in said parish of Lonan, bounded on the north-east and south-east by the public road and on the north-west and south-west by the property of the late William Fargher and

Whereas the said John Killip some time since departed this life having first made and published his last will and testament dated the eighteenth day of February one thousand, eight hundred and eighty-one whereof he appointed his two sons John Killip and James Killip executors who at a Court holden at Douglas on the eleventh May one thousand, eight hundred and eighty-seven duly proved the said will and were sworn executors thereunder and

Whereas by Deed bearing date the first day of December one thousand, eight hundred and eighty-eight the said John Killip and James Killip executors as aforesaid assigned the said Deed of Bond and Security unto Maria Mylroie (otherwise Killip) the wife of the said John Mylroie (the assignors aforementioned) and

Whereas all interest, costs and charges under the said Deed of Bond and Security to the date of these presents have been paid as the assignors doth hereby acknowledge and

Whereas it has been arranged that the said Deed of Bond and Security shall be transferred to the assignees

Now these presents witness that the assignors in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds (the principal money aforesaid) to them paid by the assignees (in equal proportions), the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do by these presents give, grant, transfer and assign unto the assignees all that the said principal money of one hundred pounds, together with the said Deed of Bond and Security of the 28th day of January one thousand, eight hundred and eighty-four and the house and garden granted in security thereby and with interest on the said principal money from the date of these presents to have and to hold the same and all the right, title and interest both at law and in equity of the assignors in the said Deed of Bond and Security and the principal money secured thereby unto the assignees equally and their respective executors, administrators and assigns in as full and ample a manner as the assignors now hold the same provided always and it is hereby declared that the assignors, their executors or administrators shall not be liable to the assignees, their executors, administrators or assigns in anywise by reason of the assignors having executed these presents. At Douglas Isle of Man 12 September 1906 John Thomas Cowin one of the subscribing witnesses to the execution of the foregoing Deed (who is known to me) made oath on the Holy Evangelist that Maria Mylroie and John Mylroie the executing parties thereto duly signed and executed the same in deponent’s presence and in presence of Annie Kneen, the other subscribing witness thereto.   1. Ballaraugh
  2. John Mylroie was the younger - and only surviving - son of John Mylroie & Ann Quilleash. He was born in Lonan in 1846
  3. John jnr was a miner as his father was, but over the years rose up the ranks to become an engineer
  4. He married Maria Killip in Liverpool in 1903 when he was 57
  5. There were no children of the marriage
  6. Maria had also been born in Lonan and it seems she inherited at least two Deeds of Bond and Security after her father's death in 1887
  7. This Assignment is for a mortgage that she inherited. Another had been assigned in 1905
