Will - 1872 (Peel)

This is the last will and testament of Jane Mylrea widow of the late Basil Mylrea of the town of Peel made the day month and year hereinafter written –

I leave and bequeath to my son Edward Mylrea the sum of ten pounds sterling as a legacy

I leave and bequeath to my son Basil Mylrea the sum of ten pounds sterling as a legacy. I leave and bequeath to my son Philip Mylrea the sum of ten pounds sterling as a legacy

I leave and bequeath to my daughter Susannah wife of Thomas Kelly the sum of one shilling as legacy.

And my will is that none of the beforenamed legacies is to bear any interest.

I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Jane Kelly the sum of thirteen pounds sterling which is secured by me by a promissory note from the trustees of the Primitive Chapel at Knocksharry in the parish of German as a legacy.

And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my daughter Elizabeth Price wife of John Quayle of the town of Peel, confectioner, sole and whole executrix of this my will and residuary legatee of my personal estate.

  2. Married Basil 1828, five children: Edward (1832), Basil (1833), Susannah Alice (1836), Elizabeth Price (1838), Philip (1840)
  3. Hotel was called White Lion, and it was in Bridge St, Peel
  4. Basil died 1865
  5. Sons: Edward spent most of his life in London where he was a master organ builder; Basil lived in Manchester and was a master jeweller, Philip went first to Australia then to the US where he died at quite a young age
