JONY McYLREA
Will - 1724 (Malew)
Rushen 1724 Oct 24
Jony McYlrea daughter of Thomas McYlrea (deceased ) departed this life about the 26th September last intestate whereupon the Court has decreed her mother Margaret McYlrea als Waterson sole administrator of all her goods, according to the father’s will Lib 2 p 1723 and she is sworn in form of law.
The goods in the father’s inventory and there secured.
NOTES
- There was something wrong with Jony - maybe intellectualy disabled, or seriously ill - reference in father's will 1723
- Parents: Thomas Mcylrea & Margaret Waterson married 6th May 1702, Malew; Thomas died 1723
- Family from Rushen, as opposed to Malew, a parish that Watersons more commonly came from but Thomas, her father, was probably from Malew originally
- No record of Jony’s birth
- Sister Margery married William Gawn in 1724 [no record of her birth either] and died four years later
- There is much about the Malew Mylreas of the 1600s and early 1700s that does not hang together so extreme caution must be exercised
