NOTES

  1. Burial recorded 8th February 1638 (recorded as 1637 in the old calendar)
  2. With so much of the will indecipherable, it is hard to know who this person was other than the fact that she was Margaret Illerea, she had married to a man named John Kelly, and she had at least one son and two daughters
  3. A Margery Kelly was born to a Jon Kelly in Ballaugh in 1634; no record of a son
  4. The John Mclerea of Ballaquylla is probably John Mylrea of Ballacooiley, who died in 1636. However, that will makes no mention of a Margaret
  5. Alternatively, she might have been the sister of the John Mclerea of Ballacooiley and the daughter of John Mc Ilrea who died in 1600. In that case, his will hadn't been settled after 37 years.
